What If Obama Quit September 18, 2011

What if there were simply no more Obama to oppose.  It’s much harder to oppose a white president – even a Democrat.  This is a letter I sent as to the POTUS and I sent it as a staunch supporter, a Democrat and   disgusted American.  Mr. Obama is not the object of my disgust.  Here, for your comments is what I wrote and what I sent.  Here is what I think:

Dear Mr. President:

I am a great fan of yours and I support you. Your presence in the White House in my lifetime has fulfilled a dream of mine and my father’s. He would be stunned and thrilled.

It appears to me that they loyal opposition is determined to undermine you and that this has been its agenda since January 22, 2009. Judging from the band of idiots currently on the GOP stage they cannot offer a formidable candidate of your quality. I am not surprised. All of it makes me furious. In my fury I created – in my head, a plan I would like to share with you. It may sound farfetched but at this point – but maybe farfetched is what is required.

I would quit. I would take your kids and wonderful wife, your mother-in-law and Bo and just say – no more.
I would hand it over to Joe and Jill Biden and disrupt the entire GOP. You can always run again (and win). But if you let these bozos know that you are not going to play their games anymore and walk on by – I suggest you would make a point so dramatic and devastating that God’s Own Party would quake for years to come.

They plan to make you a one term president. Don’t let them. Let this country get what it has been asking for your entire your term. Idiocy from the right. Your brilliant jobs bill will not pass. They wouldn’t pass Go to collect $200.

You are the wrong color, the wrong race, the wrong everything for these bigots. So let them have Joe and Jill and screw them.Let them know you are far too intelligent and educated to assist in their plan and they will have to do it without you. You have 14 months to go. Give the campaign money to Biden. If he doesn’t want it – decide who can and will and trip these idiots as they stand.

Don’t quit. Decline to participate any longer. Pass the torch and let them feel the lick of the flame.

At least consider it. At this point they would rather destroy this country than allow you to govern. So don’t be part of it.

Respectfully,

A Little Breather Before the Next One. September 13, 2011

I am still working on the one I meant to post last week but the one I posted today came so quickly and easily I decided to put it up. If you read it – I shall be happy to hear your comments. The book that inspired it is one you must read – “The Sins of Brother Curtis” by Lisa Davis (Scribner’s 2011). What an eye opener. I am sure the LDS will spin like dervishes. Another excellent work on another aspect of the Mormon culture’s propensity for bending the rules and the laws of the land is “Secrets and Wives” by Sanjiv Bhattacharya (2011). Both highly recommended.

More Mormon Mysteries Revealed. Explained? No. September 13, 2011

This information comes from a book entitled “The Sins of Brother Curtis” by Lisa Davis, Scribner’s 2011. It is a history of the serial pedophilia of one Mormon man and how the Mormons covered it up for decades using money, lawyers, religious mumbo jumbo, The US Constitution and lies to allow the assault and devastation of young boys – even as they knew it was happening serially.

It reveals a scarier and basic, important truth I did not know.

The Mormons have invented a cult that is so malleable and has so many loopholes it covers every ass that slips out naked. Their use of our Constitution is one of their mainstays – although from its inception, Mormonism supported and promoted polygamy – a crime in the USA. They are a very clever lot. They paid for Prop 8. Two are running for POTUS. Think twice before you find either of those men the lesser of any evils. Here is what I found out:

The Mormon Church has a deeper historical connection to the Constitution than most people know. “The church teaches that the Constitution of the United States was divinely inspired by men whom God chose as its authors. One Mormon prophet wrote of being visited in a Mormon Temple by a Founding Father, who instructed him that the church must protect the Constitution. The idea that the Constituion was handed down from God “by the hands of wise men” is canonized in Doctrines and Covenants, one of the fundamental works of the church. In 1957, Mormon president J. Reuben Clark Jr., a former undersecretary of state for whom the Brigham Young Law School is named, gave a well-known address on the Constitution in which he said :

“I declare that the divine sanction thus repeatedly given by the Lord himself to the Constitution of the United States as it came from the hands of the frames with its coterminous* Bill of Rights, makes principles of that document an integral part of any religious faith. It is a revelation from the Lord I believe and reverence its God-inspired provisions. My faith, my knowledge, my testimony of the Restored Gospel, based on the divine principle of continuous revelation, compel me to so believe. Thus has the Lord approved of or political system, an approval, as far as I know, such as he has given to no other political system of any other people in the world since the time of Jesus.”

[Put that in your pipe and smoke it – it leaves very little wiggle room]

It so happens that the defining case in U.S. law on matters of religious liberty also involves the Church of Jesus Christ LDS. In 1878, a man named George Reynolds was convicted for bigamy in Utah. He challenged the conviction before the SCOTUS arguing that it was his constitutionally protected religious duty as a Mormon to marry multiple wives – (Mormon Doctrine includes a revelation from God to Joseph Smith that males are to practice polygamy or face “damnation in the life to come”). The Court ruled against Reynolds, noting that the government cannot constitutionally dictate religious belief, but can regulate actions. Reynolds v. US set a legal precedent for such matters and has been quoted in lawsuits ever since…. The court famously wrote, “Can a man excuse his illegal practices…because of his religious belief? To permit this would be to make the professed doctrines of religious belief superior to the law of the land, and in effect to permit every citizen to become a law unto himself, Government would exist only in name under such circumstances…”

Because the LDS belief is that if a man or woman who is excommunicated from the church, takes measures to cast off their former and ostensibly evil ways, they may be re-baptized as if nothing had happened previously. The slate is literally wiped clean and never to be mentioned again. Serial pedophiles such as Brother Curtis, exercised this loophole more than once. He moved around and raped little boys.

What does all this have to do with the GOP candidates or truly any one who declares themself a prophet of the Almighty who makes up the rules as he or she goes along and keeps secrets? Well, friends, it makes me ice-cold and very scared. It says to me that under the perfect teeth and hair not out-of-place, that it hides agendas, lies, opportunities, secrets and justifications that put many Americans in great jeopardy. Not just from pedophiles or serial polygamists but from men who hear voices and answer with their own. Men who believe they are speaking for a creation that may or may not even exist. That they know MUCH MORE than their constituents do and therefore MUST run the show. SO having bored you with this little piece of Mormon doctrine – I ask you to mention to anyone you like or pass it on but more than that – I warn you. And I am serious. The current candidates all have a little Mormon in them in my opinion – and some have a complete set of Mormon DNA. Be very careful.

What I like About Jews August 18, 2011

If you notice the Jesus Loves Me band of angels on the GOP side of the 2012 race you will not see a single Jew. I am certain there are plenty of Jews who are Republicans and even some who would consider at a run at the Big Job. But they don’t do it. I like this about Jews. I don’t count Joe Lieberman because I think he was ” a disappointment to the Jews”. He disappointed me anyway.

Before the mid 1800’s there was pretty much only two ways to be a Jew – the everyday – I’m a Jew, I go to shul, I eat kosher and for Chinese food I pretend pork chow mein is something else. The other way was to be Chassidic or Ultra Orthodox- stricter, more observant and insular. In the mid 1800’s Jewishness started to branch out into other ways to be Jewish – reform, conservative, secular and of course old style. But all the time this went on – the conversation stayed in the Jewish community. There were Zionists who wanted a Jewish Homeland way before the turn of the last century and those who said “Feh” to the whole idea . Jews, however, when in a group – were always Jewish. The rules – observed or not were there, the Torah (5 books of the Hebrew Scriptures) set them down and whether or not modern Jews believed each one or even that G-d had sent them – they stood  basically united on the concept. Prophets came along and fleshed out the story, but very little changed over 5000 years or so. We still wait for the precise conditions for Moshiach to arrive and sort out the problems and we don’t get voices that tell us to tweak the story simply to go with the times. I like this about Jews. No revelations, no pale horses, and especially no Jesus.  We like the concept of one G-d who is who he is and is only who he is and  only one as well  (that was a little Jewish dance with words).  You will not see a Trinity Shul.  The point is that our G-d; as far as we are concerned – THE G-d – didn’t have relatives or kids or wives or personal saviors and he could be a nasty piece of work and made no excuses for it.  He set it up so you played by the rules and every once in a while you got some joy from it but he also let it be known that life was not and would not be an easy road.  This worked out for the Jews for about 3000 years until the Romans hit the Middle East and it hit the skids right about then.  The basic fact was and is – Jewishness may sound strict but the rules stay the same.  You atone for your own sins, you honor the ten commandments and then you are on your own.  I like this about the Jews.  I don’t think they – as a group – speak to many Americans as political people.  Just as well.  In my book they are far too pragmatic for the job and frankly they are pretty useless in Israel – politically speaking.

So it is with trepidation and a sense of fear I listen to the Holy Runners for the GOP tickets who are straight out of Cults and Consequences.  And they hate everyone who isn’t one of them.  Not a smart idea for running a country based on equality and freedom.  They love Jesus. Okay and he loves them back – something they got from a song in Sunday school.  They don’t want to pay taxes for services because they are afraid “others” will get some money of theirs.  (Yet they tithe – 10% to the church of their choice and get what in return?)  A couple believe in a planet called Kobol where they will go at some point after death.  Their cult says that gays are bad people so they get together and seek to make them more or less non grata. (Prop 8).  A few more – so far – are certifiable in their denial of anyone’s right to believe as they please and insist the country was founded on Christian beliefs and values. Jesus did not like the Gay, the women, the dark skinned or the Democrats.  They believe this and say so. The framers were primarily deists who were also Masons.  They had no use for state religion and said so at the jump.  Tell that to the band of idiots who believe in someone who is not G-d but an ordinary, charismatic Jew that too many people took far to seriously.  They have many, many rule changes to suit their agendas – G-d came to them and said so is a favorite.  I doubt this wholeheartedly..  They are largely on the side of big business and have some confusion about what is and isn’t a people vs a corporation.  I would personally expect to a lot richer if I was an Inc.  They won’t admit it but they are FLOORED by the dark skinned Harvard lawyer who lives in the White House with his black wife, mother in law and children.  They have spent 4 years making this clear.  I suspect they would feel just about the same if it were a Jew.

So in closing – I am a great supporter of Obama, a Jew and what I like about the Jews is that they don’t mix politics and religion.  Obama doesn’t either.

For the Bereaved of Borough Park July 14, 2011

I have been lazy and busy for the last few month – wasting perhaps valuable and pithy thoughts on FB.  But today my heart is broken and I am in mourning for a little boy I do not know.  His name is Leiby Kletzky and he would have been 9 years old next week.  Now he is dead.  Like most of this country I paid some attention to the trial of Casey Anthony – an ordeal almost 6 years old and one that resulted in an acquittal based on lack of a case.  The DA in Orlando screwed up.    Whatever we learn now about this matter will always be fraught with doubts but Casey Anthony is protected by double jeopardy so she may be a pariah – but she will go on her way.  I don’t much care to be very honest.

Today I got an email from a list I am on called Hatzolah – a volunteer Jewish ER service and this one caught my eye.  It told of a little boy walking home from day camp in borough Park Brooklyn who was kidnapped, murdered and dismembered by a member of the same neighborhood.  This happened yesterday – not three years ago.  Leiby was a little Orthodox Jewish lad with glasses, a yarmulke and sidelocks  and sneakers coming back from day camp.  A little boy.   The family’s only son. His mother was on her way to meet him but he got lost and a man with a similar look drove by and we imagine Leiby asked for directions.  Leiby got into the car.  We will never  know what he said but tonight he will be mourned and buried.

The man presumed innocent until proven guilty Levi Aron is a quiet, religious loner who lived in his parent’s home.  He was not married and he worked full time. He only known crime was pishing in public.  I suspect most men have done this.   One can only assume that there were very dark parts in his head and where his soul might have once been.  He has supposedly admitted to what he did to Leiby.  What he did was so heinous and ugly you can read the tabloids to get the details.  A parent should never know such things can happen to children.  Such things should never happen.

While I write this I am waiting for the real press to tell  us about Leiby and his short but beloved life.  The sisters who must have adored him, the mother who treasured him; the father who planned in his heart for the 13th birthday on which he would become a man.  I am waiting for the outrage and the anger and the fury that accompanied the death of Caylee Anthony.  A child no more or less precious than this little boy.  I am waiting for the outcry, the keeners, the wailers, the sign carriers who will demonstrate for Leiby and I know I will be even sadder because none of that will happen.  And I would ask you who have loved any child to make sure it does.  Because it matters just as much.

Well, I’d Like To Go To Memphis* April 23, 2011

I loved the movie Nashville – in its entirety and while I cannot sing a note I do know all the words to all the songs (Ronee Blakely is my favorite).

When the clue-challenged Governor of Tennesse decided to ban the words “gay” and “homosexual” from schools in that state and other instances where it might be used to refer to folks who are gay and homosexual I thought of Barbara Jean* in the movie Nashville.  So I have taken some liberities with Karen Black’s wonderful song (copyrighted by her) –  and composed this little ditty – to be sung, if you can –  sort of, to the tune of  “I’d Like to Go to Memphis”.  It is dedicated to all the wonderful gay and homosexual people I know, the lousy and rotten gay and homosexuals that must be out there too and the Log Cabin Republicans – whom I don’t quite get:

Well, I’d like to go to Memphis but I can’t cause I’m gay

If they ask me and I tell  ’em they’ll just send me away and I’d love to go to

Nashville but the same thing is true; the homo’s gone  from

sexual so I will be too. And I’ll  try to keep on going on.

I had a friend from Dover but he went away – I suppose

he told the teacher and the preacher that he’s gay.

Now that he can’t say it there’s no reason to stay

So I guess that he’ll just try to keep on going on.

Long distance information will not accept my

call, so I guess I ‘ll write a letter, I was gonna after all.

And I’ll stay out of the GOO-GOO – can’t risk it being there

On the last train to Clarksville I won’t even get a chair.

So I’d like to go to Memphis but they haven’t got a clue.

Today it’s homosexual;  it could soon be Black and Jew

So I guess I’ll have to keep on keeping on – oo oo.

And then I guess I’ll just have to keep on keeping on.
