The Sarah Palin Chronicles – The Pop Quiz
“The worst government is the most moral. One composed of cynics is often very tolerant and humane. But when fanatics are on top there is no limit to oppression.” Henry Louis Mencken
Time’s up – Sarah has dazzled them with her charm, wit and wacky views on reality. Now it’s time for the Dems to stop the grinnin’ and drop the linen. Find a way to defuse an out of control reaction to a pure wack job and win the election. Aren’t you sick of her? I am and therefore I am hoping to end the SP Chronicles today (if it’s possible) by requesting answers from her to the following questions:
If you do not believe in abortion for any reason – how do you propose that women made mothers by force or apathy will support and raise their children with less social programs and no support system in place? What is your response to a doctor insisting it must be done for the life of the mother or both will die?
What do you think has caused Global Warming if not the presence of man and man-made problems. If you believe that God has done it – why do you think he has chosen now to do it?
Do you think that the Middle East War is equivalent to the Crusades?
Why does God want this if the Muslims also believe in one God.
Why does God want this if the Muslims also believe in one God.
Why do you pray that there is a plan as if you are doubtful?
Would you allow anyone’s creationism (basically the religious basis for the presence of man on earth) to be taught in public schools? There are many different theories in religious belief of the Creation. Would you be all inclusive and also allow Darwin to be taught. Would you allow Hindu, Islamic, Buddhist, Inuit, Santeria, Voudou and all the others to be explored. If not, why?
How would you feel if you were not allowed to marry the person you loved?
What if you had Gay children and they did not “change”?
Do you agree with David Brickner that terrorism in Israel is punishment for the Jews? If so, why?
Where do the Jews fit in your beliefs?
Where do the Catholics fit?
Since the “Bible” was written centuries ago in Aramaic and other languages – how do you justify that the words in an English bible are literally the spoken word of God?
Do you believe in the Rapture?
Why does your sect think that this country is a Christian nation?
Who has said this and is in a position of authority to make this a statement not an opinion?
Do you think the Founding Fathers were heathens?
Do you think that God speaks to you directly?
If intelligent design should turn out to be extraterrestrial in origin and not God given – will that be okay with you?
Where do you think Polar Bears will live without their necessary environment? How will they thrive and increase their numbers?
If we are trying to redeem the earth, why not put our energy into better energy than anyone’s oil?
I think these are salient points that she should answer them without a script.
Immediately after they are all answered clearly I think we should step back and reassess how she fits into the running of this country. There is still time to make changes and those with courage should be able to decide if changes are in order.
Missionary work has shown to be very detrimental to the non-believers who are converted by the “do it or else” method. Christianity in its extremist incarnations has ruined many fine civilizations and methods of government. Inasmuch as Christianity – no matter how the believers spin it – is not even monotheistic – we might have done far better with more, rather than less deities.
Whatever you believe, believe this – Sarah Palin is a bad choice for Vice President and she needs to be available to answer my questions and anyone else’s before we all find ourselves rolling on the floor and speaking in tongues.
I don’t seem to get any comments on these posts – I welcome them and I would really like to hear comments on this one.

Fifty days from now we will go to the polls to cast our vote. So much rides on this election after the last eight years of despair that I wonder what John McCain is thinking. The time being taken by the media and the pundits to parse Sarah Palin has essentially diverted the real issues of these crucial days from the issues at hand. We are now have to worry about this woman and what she might do if she makes it to the White House. We think about little else. Who has mentioned the economy, the war, the national debt, health care reform or anything that we have assumed was the point of these candidate’s platforms. It has been my assumption that vetting a candidate was the job of the party considering the nomination. Not the public, not the media. And yet our valuable time and emotional energy has been hijacked by her antics of this woman and strange behavior, apparent since long before she was named VP candidate. Why does the GOP think the media should do the GOP’s job? What happened to the issues that were the talking points of this election?
I am angry and you should be too. All the stones have not been unturned nor have her bona fides been examined. Her religion, to which she is entitled, does not seem to be in step with reality. This is fine for a private citizen but not for one who will speak for the nation. Trying to ban books and punish librarians is not going to fly at the Library of Congress. Claiming that God and his son Jesus are directing the war effort has no place in our political system. GI’s may pray for an end to the fighting but I hardly think they believe Jesus wanted them there in the first place. I suspect they hope Jesus wants them home. And while we are discussing Jesus – why is a Christian Republic any more desirable than an Islamic or Jewish one? Or Hindu or Buddhist. Very little separates Sarah Palin from Mahmūd Ahmadinejād; they were both mayors and governors but he has a Ph.D. Scary huh? Aren’t religious oppressors and zealots the very people we are trying to keep from attacking our country. Isn’t that why we have Homeland Security, redition and waterboarding? Well, as Pogo said so aptly “we have met the enemy and she is us”. While the ice melts in Canada and the polar bear tries to live on land she maintains that global warming is a non-starter. That the Gay can be “cured” by prayer and that woman have no choice in reproductive rights. Is she good for the Jews? I don’t think she envisions Jews as the righteous beings lifted heavenward during the Rapture – they do not believe in the Messiah she believes in. Yet Orthodox Jews seem to love her – do they love her relationship with David Brickner? Did they even know about it? I wonder if lamebrain John McCain even knew the Pandora’s box he was opening when he let this holy rolling virago loose on the public. There is still time for the spin doctors to lay her off for some reason or another and let the RNC put a real person on the ticket so we can get back to the election. If not we can only hope that something is dug up that makes such a decision unnecessary. Something that makes it mandatory. And they had better dig fast.
