Quần áo SIDA hay Đồ SIDA là tên gọi của một số mặt hàng quần áo cũ được bày bán ở thị trường Việt Nam bắt đầu xuất hiện từ những năm cuối thập niên 1980. Nguồn gốc của những mặt hàng này là các thùng quần áo cũ do Tổ chức SIDA của Thụy Điển viện trợ. Vì thế chúng còn có các tên gọi đồ Sida, hàng Sida, đồ thùng, hàng thùng. Việc chữ “Sida” trùng với tên gọi căn bệnh SIDA/AIDS chỉ là ngẫu nhiên.
Quần Áo SIDA nguyên kiện
Vào cuối thập niên 1980 đến đầu thập niên 1990, tổ chức SIDA của Thụy Điển (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – Tổ chức hợp tác phát triển quốc tế Thụy Điển) có những chương trình viện trợ cho Việt Nam. Một trong những hành động đó là việc quyên góp các quần áo cũ của người dân. Các quần áo này được giặt giũ, làm sạch rồi đóng thùng gửi tới Việt Nam. Nhưng khi tới Việt Nam, do một vài lý do nào đó, các thùng quần áo này không được phát trực tiếp cho những người nghèo mà lại trở thành một mặt hàng bày bán ngoài thị trường. Chúng thường được những người kinh doanh bán tại vỉa hè hay trong những cửa hàng nhỏ. Một số nơi tập trung thành những chợ bán đồ Sida, như ở Kim Liên, Hà Nội. Những mặt hàng này với chất lượng còn tốt và giá cả thấp đã rất phổ biến, đặc biệt trong giới trẻ chuyên săn lùng quần áo nam.
Những năm sau đó, tổ thức SIDA không còn hình thức viện trợ này cho Việt Nam, nhưng khái niệm “đồ Sida” vẫn được dùng để gọi những mặt hàng quần áo của nước ngoài đã qua sử dụng vào thị trường Việt Nam. Bên cạnh đó, từ “đồ second hand” cũng được dùng phổ biến cho cả quần áo và các mặt hàng khác đã qua sử dụng. Chữ second hand xuất phát từ tiếng Anh, có nghĩa là “đã qua tay”, “đã được dùng”, “đồ cũ”…

My Dearest in the Lord,
Calvary greetings to you in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ. I am Mrs. Elizaveta Andros from Kuwait. I was married to Mr. Steven Andros who worked with Kuwait embassy in Cote d’Ivoire for nine years before he died last year. We were married for eleven years without a child. My husband died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christians.

My Bible tells me that he works in many ways and all things works out for good to them th at believed in Christ Jesus. In fact, It is also by the leading of the holy spirit of God that I choose you in obedience and love to fulfill the desire of my late husband that I supported to the glory of God. I want you to understand that this benevolence is in fulfillment of the desire and decision of my late husband which I am persuaded to actualize.
Since the death of my beloved husband, I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of US$3.6 million dollars ($3,600,000.00) in a bank here in Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire. Presently, this money is still in the bank.
Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the period of nine months due to my cancer problem. The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a charity organization, church, Christian organization, or a true believer that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein.
I want this fund to be used for orphanages, schools, churches, widows, and the less privilege people in propagating the word of God and to make sure that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that “Blessed is the hand that gives”. I took this decision because I don’t have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are unbelievers and I don’t want my husband’s efforts to be used by unbelievers.
I don’t want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the LORD. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that “the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace”. I don’t need any telephonic communication in this regard because of my health condition and the presence of my late husband’s relatives around me always trying to claim this money from me which my husband left for me. I don’t want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible.
I will want you to handle this on your own since my health can not allow me as I have been placed on medical dialysis check up periodically. Even I am writing this letter with the assistance of a sister who uses to help me. I will want you to send me your full name and address so that I can swear to an affidavit on oath that will officially and legally approved you as the next of kin to this fund so that even if I am dead your claim to this fund in the bank will not be in doubt. I will be sending you the affidavit of oath and certificate of deposit of this fund immediately after the affidavit is ready.
As soon as I receive your reply i shall give you the contact of the bank in Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire where this money was deposited by my beloved husband. I will also issue you the affidavit of oath that will legally and officially approve you the next of kin and new beneficiary to the fund together with the certificate of deposit of this fund which my late husband used to pay the money in the bank. I want you to always pray for me because the LORD is my shepherd.
My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whosoever that wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and Truth.
